I don't know about you but I am ready for some actual
spring weather! My poor little dears are just beside
themselves waiting for "no jacket" weather! I have a
feeling they will be waiting a little while!
March is a longggg month but is filled with lots of things!
My absolute favorite time of the year is celebrating Dr.
Seuss! I think perhaps a lot of people celebrate this for a
day or maybe a week but I like to celebrate all March long!
Dr. Seuss is a genius and all children can enjoy at least one
of his stories so I like to do all sorts of things for Dr. Seuss'
birthday! I remember doing a project on him for a
children's lit class in college and you have no idea how
fascinating he was until you study him. I have a post from
last year that shows some of the activities we do but I also
wanted to share pictures of our delicious green eggs...only
a few kiddos were willing to try them...I guess they didn't
get the moral of the story!
We also had our 100th Day of Kindergarten! We had lots of
fun filling the day with counting to 100, art projects,
making hats!! All sorts of things! One of the best activities
we do on this day is an idea I got from another teacher's
blog, I believe it was Julie Lee's
www.mrsleeskinderkids.com, is gluing 100 things on to a big
cut out shape! It's such good practice and they come out
so cute!
Finally, I made these felt pieces during my free
time.....because these are the kinds of things I do on
Saturdays.....I promise I do things outside of my
profession...sometimes! It may seem nerdy but it's so fun!
I read on a blog that if you print these on fabric transfer
paper (click here) and iron it on to white felt, you can use
them as felt pieces which is AWESOME! They are good for
